Shaka Zulu Krewe Party

We were invited to a party in New Orleans by our friends. SN: We never celebrate Mardi Gras or the festivities around it. We said that we’d start doing something small for the kids so that they’d have that experience. They can’t be from Louisiana and not know about Mardi Gras right? Anyway, we (my husband and I) took advantage of having a sitter ( Thanks Mom!!) and headed east to New Orleans … we’re from Baton Rouge btw. After 35 minutes we were downtown New Orleans …. yeah you read right! My husband was driving. 😂 I’m just kidding. We got there in 45 minutes 😩. The party was at the same place and in the same room the Saints Super Bowl Reunion party was, at The Hyatt Regency. We had fun. We ate, laughed, argued, and fellow-shipped with our friends.

I wore a gold, long sleeved romper by Calvin Klein. The good thing about rompers is that it’s a one piece. I didn't have to find two different pieces to wear. The tie in the middle accentuated the waist (I still had to suck in though). I really didn’t have any shoes to wear with this. I wanted to wear black open toe shoes because I had a fresh pedi but didn't feel like buying any so I wore my black boots. It really didn't matter what shoes I wore anyway because my pants were long af. As long as I had a heel on it didn’t matter 🤷🏽‍♀️. The bad thing about THIS romper was …. every step I took, glitter fell. I left a trail of glitter behind me. I mean … now that I think about it, I guess it wasn't too bad 😏. What girl doesn't like glitter?? Hubby matched my fly so this was definitely a “Chic Adventure”.
